About Our Group
The Great Lakes Cloggers is a group of energetic Michiganders who share a passion for clog dancing and enjoy having fun. Contact us now for information on clogging classes or performances.
History & Mission
Since 2017, The Great Lakes Cloggers have been dedicated to revitalizing clog dancing in Michigan. Many members have previously performed with other clogging groups that have since disbanded, and they are eager to see the art of clogging flourish once again in Michigan.
Our Instructor
Chris Phelps has been clogging since he was in 2nd grade in Jackson, Michigan. He has performed, competed, and taught clog dancing for most of his life. Without a local group, he started a ministry at a local church to share his passion for clogging. Soon, other fantastic dancers joined him, and their group grew.
Competition Team
The Great Lakes Cloggers celebrated a fantastic achievement in May of 2024, securing a 2nd place win in the Amateur Traditional Line category for clog dancing. They also proudly took home the 2nd place trophy for their A' Capella Duet. Stay tuned for more exciting competition information related to clogging in Michigan!
